A downloadable game for Windows and Android

Children of Fafnir is a wholesome VR puzzle platformer for Oculus Quest and PCVR where you must rescue a bunch of tiny dragons.

  • ๐Ÿ‰  control tiny dragons
  • ๐Ÿ›   play with physics objects
  • ๐Ÿ  adorable miniature floating islands
  • ๐Ÿงฉ  simple but satisfying puzzles
  • ๐Ÿ”ฎ  a mysterious ending
  • ๐Ÿ’ธ  free!

The game is currently available as a ๐Ÿ’ธ free early access demo. This version includes 7 levels, representing the first area of the game and accounting for roughly โฑ 45 minutes to 1 hour of gameplay.

The game is available for Oculus Quest (1 & 2) and PCVR.

On Oculus Quest, the game is available via Oculus app lab at this link.

On PC, the game has been tested with an Oculus Rift S and an Oculus Quest 2. Other headsets should be supported, but I've not been able to test the game to verify this. If you run the game on another headset please let me know of any issues you run into & I will do my best to fix them (and if it just works let me know so that I can update this description!).

The game is under active development and feedback is very welcome! If you wish to follow along with my progress I sporadically post updates, as well as occasionally provide tidbits of gamedev and ue4 wisdom, on twitter @iameviltom.

I played and finished this game with Quest 2 on yesterday and it was great! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฒ

I think I'd merge sitting mode with standing mode (or what's called), since I find rotating camera useful at the time.

Thank you for taking the time to play, I'm glad you enjoyed it ๐Ÿ’š

I love this game, short but fun game. me and my brother loved it c:

Thanks for the kind words! ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ’š

any idea how to get past the first screen with Vive?  i see the seated standing icon but not able to select or whatever it is that i'm supposed to do on that step

Very sorry, I guess something in my ue4 setup is not correct for Vive ๐Ÿ˜ž without having hardware to test with it's a bit of a guessing game. You should be able to select one of the options with the trigger buttons, which I imagine you've tried!

Next thing on my to-do list is getting unreal's steam vr input integration working, so hopefully that will fix it. Hopefully I will get an updated PC build uploaded in a week or so. Thank you for letting me know, sorry for the inconvenience!

hi again! I uploaded a new PC build today which hopefully has working input bindings for Vive now, and also has support for SteamVR input remapping in case the default bindings are still problematic.

If you do happen to try it out again do let me know if you have more luck. Thanks again!

Thanks, it does work now!

An excellent game. I loved the graphics and the characters. The puzzles weren't too difficult but also not too easy. I liked how you could walk around the floating islands to see everything that was going on from all sides. Hopefully there will be more levels as this is just a demo. Well worth playing.

Thanks for sharing!

thank you for the lovely comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
